Emerson's Bar Review

PRIVATE TUTORING

  1. Students have the privilege of unlimited private tutoring (within reason), at no additional cost. We encourage very extensive use of private tutoring because we know it works.

  2. The tutoring is usually done by telephone.

  3. You may be tutored by any of our grader-tutors, as often as you wish, for as long as you like, at no extra cost.

  4. When your homework and practice exams are graded, the telephone number of the person who graded your paper is provided. You may call that grader, or any grader, for tutoring on that question, or any question on any bar subject.

  5. We want to tutor you because it increases the likelihood that you will pass, and everyone benefits when you pass.

WHAT IS GRADED?

We probably grade more homework and practice exams than any course in the state!

  1. This course requires submitting approximately 3 homework essays each week to be graded and returned, with useful comments.

  2. This course also includes a half-day simulated bar exam each weekend, throughout the course. The weekly practice exams consist of either:

    • Three 1-hour former bar exam questions in the subjects we just finished, (on 4 weekends) or,

    • One 3-hour Performance Test, (on 4 weekends).

These are graded and returned, with useful comments, and the telephone number of the grader is provided. You are encouraged to call for further discussion of the issues!

  3. This course also includes a final intensive 3-day simulated bar exam, given 1 week before the Bar Exam. These 6 essays and 2 Performance Tests are graded and returned.

  4. You may also write any unassigned former bar essay questions or former bar Performance Tests and we will grade and return it to you, with comments.
